We have a brand new range of Bay Trees in stock here at Sapcote Garden Centre in Leicester, with a great selection of shapes and sizes, including Standard, Spirals, and Unshaped trees.
The Bay Tree is an evergreen garden classic, which flourishes in tubs and pots on the patio area, and can be easily shaped into elegant formal shapes.
And of course, you have your own fresh supply of bay leaves to use in cooking whenever you like! Perfect in soups, stews, and roasts.
And at the end of the page is a small section on How to care for your bay trees.
Standard Bay Trees
The classic style of bay tree, with the spherical top is perfect either side of a doorway sitting happily in a pot or tub.
We have them in a range of heights, and head sizes, to suite your needs and budget.
From 1.2m tall, all the way to 2.1m tall!
Spiral Bay Trees
Spiral Bays are also great for the patio area, but can also be planted in a border, surrounded by summer bedding to create a wonderful garden display.
We have a range of sizes including 1.7m, and 2.1m spirals.
Unshaped Bay Trees
For those that prefer the bay tree to grow naturally, we have our range of unshaped bay trees. They look fantastic in a row around patio area, or sitting in a larger display.
Sizes range from 50cm, to 1.3m.
The Laurica Bay Tree Guarantee
This orange baytree certificate is a quality guarantee. Care tips are also given via the certificate. All plants sold under the Laurica-plants label receive this guarantee, which stands for intensive quality control of the growth and cultivation process.
Caring for Your Bay Trees
There are several things you must consider when looking after your bay tree:
- Soil type – Bay Trees need a soil based compost, and we advise to go with John Innes no3 potting compost.
- Location – Bay Trees are best suited to sheltered, sunny spots as they are natively a mediterranean plant.
- Winter Care – During harsh cold winds, it is best to cover the leaves in fleece, to protect them from any damage. And during very cold spells you should cover both the stem, and the leaves.
