Lemax collections explained: Caddington Village, Vail Village, Santa’s Wonderland, Carnival and the rest

Lemax sells its Christmas village pieces in named collections, each with its own look: Caddington Village is the snowy English town, Vail Village the alpine ski resort, Santa’s Wonderland the North Pole, Carnival the fairground, Harvest Crossing the autumn farm, with Sugar ‘N’ Spice, Plymouth Corners and Jukebox Junction as smaller themed sets. All of them are made to the same proportions, so you can mix pieces from any collection in one display. Here is what each collection is, what it costs, and what Sapcote Garden Centre has on the shelves in 2026.

What are the Lemax collections?

A collection is a themed group of buildings, animated Sights & Sounds pieces, table pieces, figurines and accessories that share a style, so a village built from one collection looks like one place. Lemax adds new pieces to each collection every year and retires older ones, which is why collectors tend to buy a building or two each season. The table below shows the eight collections Sapcote Garden Centre stocks, with live counts and prices from our shelves in October 2026.

Jukebox Junction 1950s American main street: diners, firehouses, toy shops 3 £13.99 to £35.00
General Products Trees, figures, roads, lighting and landscaping that fit any collection 122 £1.99 to £99.00

Caddington Village: the classic snowy English town

Caddington Village is the collection most UK collectors start with, because it looks like a Victorian market town on Christmas Eve: snow on every roof, lit shop windows, carol singers and horse-drawn carts. It is also the biggest collection on our shelves, with 118 pieces including 46 lighted buildings, 25 figurines and 14 animated Sights & Sounds scenes. Typical buildings are the Tannenbaum Christmas Shoppe, Devaney’s Bakery and Lucy’s Chocolate Shop at £25 each, the Dover General Store and Newsstand at £29 and The Sweet Shack at £35, and the two Caddington house sets (a building with matching figures and trees) are £69.99. The top of the range is the Everlasting Christmas Trees Sights & Sounds scene at £139.99.

Vail Village: cabins and lodges in the mountains

Vail Village is Lemax’s alpine collection: timber lodges, lakeside cabins, ski lifts and skaters rather than shop fronts. It suits a display on a raised, hilly base with lots of trees. We have 60 Vail pieces, including 15 lighted buildings such as the Elk Lake Lodge (£29), the Hide-Away Cabin, The Biscuit Basket and S’mores & Snow (£35 each) and Hoffman’s Brat House (£59), plus 20 figurines and 15 table pieces, with prices from £2.99 to £79.99.

Santa’s Wonderland: the North Pole

Santa’s Wonderland is the brightest collection, built around Santa, the elves and the reindeer: a North Pole Nursery (£39), a Hot Chocolate Spa (£45), the North Pole Control Tower (£59), Santa’s Reindeer Stables and The Village Square Clock Tower (£54.99 each). It has more animated pieces than any collection except Carnival, with 11 Sights & Sounds scenes in stock including The Holly Jolly Chocolatier (£149.99) and Santa’s Hot Springs Oasis (£138.99). Children pick this one; it is the collection running loudest on our display floor.

Carnival: the fairground

Carnival is almost entirely motion: 12 of our 17 Carnival pieces are animated Sights & Sounds rides, with lights, music and moving cars. Fireball Frenzy (£159.99), The Spin Out (£149.99) and Topsy Turvy (£129.99) are the big rides, with smaller table accents from £11.99. Carnival pieces are mains-adaptor powered because of the motors, so plan a socket for them (see our guide to powering a Lemax village). A single ride at the edge of a Caddington or Santa’s Wonderland village is a popular way in.

Harvest Crossing: autumn on the farm

Harvest Crossing is Lemax’s autumn collection, used for displays that go up in October and change to Christmas later, or for the farm end of a bigger village. Our 11 pieces are mostly lighted buildings: the Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice Coffee Shop and Pearl’s Preserves (£35 each), the Clydesdale Tractor & Farm Equipment (£29), the Woolly Wonderland Alpaca Ranch (£39.99) and The Chocolate Dip Fondue (£44.99).

Sugar ‘N’ Spice, Plymouth Corners and Jukebox Junction: the smaller themes

These three are smaller collections that add a corner of character to a display. Sugar ‘N’ Spice is gingerbread and sweets (the Yule Log Cabin and the Delightful Dip Chocolate Shop, £35 each). Plymouth Corners is a New England harbour, with The Juice Bar, Moore’s Fish Packing Co. and The Crab Shack at £29 each. Jukebox Junction is 1950s Americana: the Out of This World Toy Shop and Casey St. Firehouse 51 at £35. We carry a handful of each, so if there is a specific piece you want, check stock online before you travel.

General Products: the pieces every village needs

General Products is not a theme but the toolkit: 122 pieces that work with any collection. It covers the village trees (bristle trees from £1.99, lit trees to £39.99), 29 figurines, roads, cobblestone and pebble mats, the Plaza System base plates, ponds and streams, the LED Moonlander lighting accents, and the large village facades such as Wintergarten Lane (£79.99), Christmas City and Tis the Season Shops (£69.99) that give a display a backdrop. Most of the 3-for-2 offer lines sit here and in the figurine ranges.

Can you mix Lemax collections in one display?

Yes. Every collection is made to the same proportions and uses the same 4.5V adaptor or battery system, so a Vail cabin, a Caddington church and a Carnival ride sit together without looking wrong. The usual approach is to give each collection its own zone: the town in the middle, the ski slope at the back on a raised hill, the fairground at one end. Snow blankets, roads and trees from General Products tie the zones together.

Which collection should a beginner start with?

Start with the collection whose look you like, then buy one lighted building, two or three figurines and a tree or two, and build out from there. Caddington Village is the safest first choice because it has the most buildings and accessories to grow into. Santa’s Wonderland is the one for a child’s display. If you want movement and music from day one, add a single Carnival ride or a Sights & Sounds scene from any collection.

Quick answers

How many Lemax collections are there?

Lemax lists eleven villages on its own site, including Norman Rockwell and the Spooky Town Halloween range. UK garden centres stock the Christmas ones; Sapcote Garden Centre has eight: Caddington Village, Vail Village, Santa’s Wonderland, Carnival, Harvest Crossing, Sugar ‘N’ Spice, Plymouth Corners and Jukebox Junction, plus the General Products range.

What is the most popular Lemax collection in the UK?

Caddington Village, the snow-covered English town, is the biggest seller and the collection with the most buildings available. Santa’s Wonderland is the most popular with children.

Do Lemax collections go with each other?

Yes. All Lemax collections are made to the same scale and power system, so pieces from different collections can be displayed together.

Does Lemax retire pieces?

Yes. Lemax retires older designs each year as new ones are released, so a building that is in stock this season may not be made again. If a piece matters to your village, buy it when you see it.

Where can I see Lemax collections before buying?

Sapcote Garden Centre on Hinckley Road, Sapcote, Leicester LE9 4LG has the largest Lemax display in Leicestershire with every collection running in store from early autumn to Christmas, a few minutes from junction 2 of the M69.
