Please note: this page covers orders placed on this website, www.sapcotegc.co.uk, which currently means our artificial Christmas trees. It does not cover our separate garden furniture shop, which has its own privacy policy and delivery timescales.
Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website or buy from us, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it as plain as we can; if anything is unclear, just ask.
Who we are

What we collect
- When you order online: your name, delivery and billing address, email address, phone number, what you ordered and any delivery instructions you give us.
- Payments: card payments are taken by Dojo on their secure payment page. We never see or store your full card number. We receive confirmation that the payment went through and a reference for it.
- When you contact us: whatever you include in your email, call or message, so that we can reply.
- When you browse the site: standard technical information such as your IP address, browser and the pages you visit, collected through cookies and similar tools (see below).
How we use it and why we are allowed to
- To process and deliver your order, take payment, and contact you about it. This is necessary to carry out our contract with you.
- To keep records of sales and refunds, which we are legally required to do.
- To answer your questions and handle returns or complaints, which is in our legitimate interest in running the garden centre well.
- To understand how the website is used so we can improve it, using analytics (our legitimate interest).
- We do not send marketing emails unless you have asked for them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We share only what is needed with:
- Dojo, who process card payments on our behalf.
- The courier or driver who delivers your order (your name, address and phone number).
- The companies that host our website and send our order emails.
- Google (Google Analytics) and Meta (the Facebook pixel), which collect anonymous or pseudonymous information about visits to the site to help us measure our advertising. See “Cookies” below for how to opt out.
- HMRC, the police or other authorities where the law requires it.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This website uses:
- Essential cookies that make the basket and checkout work. The site cannot sell you anything without these.
- Google Analytics, which tells us things like how many people visit and which pages are popular. You can opt out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- The Meta (Facebook) pixel, which helps us see whether our Facebook posts and adverts are useful. You can manage this at facebook.com/ads/preferences.
- Google Maps, embedded on some pages to show where we are, which sets Google’s own cookies.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; allaboutcookies.org explains how. Blocking essential cookies will stop the checkout working.
How long we keep it
We keep order and payment records for six years after the order, as HMRC requires. Emails and messages are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry. Analytics data is kept according to Google’s and Meta’s retention settings.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to stop using it in a particular way, or ask for it in a form you can take elsewhere. Just contact us using the details above and we will respond within one month. If you are not happy with how we handle your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Keeping it safe
This website is served over a secure connection (https) and card details are only ever entered on Dojo’s secure page, so they never touch our systems. Only staff who need to see your order details to process it can do so.

If we change this policy we will update this page and the date at the top.
